Alliance to Save Energy President Kateri Callahan delivers remarks to mayors at the January 18 plenary session during the 73rd Winter Meeting, touting a new energy efficiency and conservation consumer education campaign that is designed to assist consumers in reducing their energy bills.
This campaign, a partnership between the Alliance, Procter and Gamble/Tide Coldwater, and the National Fuel Funds Network, offers consumers helpful low cost and no cost energy savings tips.
Callahan, speaking on behalf of the Alliance, one of the world's premier energy efficiency organizations, outlined a variety of ways in which consumers can reduce energy costs, including washing in cold water. She noted that, "switching to cold water, the average family can save up to $63 per year."
She also told the mayors that Procter and Gamble/Tide Coldwater will donate $100,000 to the National Fuel Funds Network, a national organization that develops and promotes energy assistance programs.
