ARTS, CULTURE AND RECREATION 

THE MILLENNIUM

WHEREAS, cities and communities around the world are now planning on ways to observe the upcoming Millennium; and

WHEREAS, the White House Millennium Council and other federal agencies and departments are planning ways to assist communities in their Millennium programs; and

WHEREAS, efforts should be made to honor America’s past heritage as well as to plan for the next Millennium,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Conference of Mayors encourages its members to plan Millennium projects that would honor the past and imagine the future; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the Conference of Mayors commends the White House Office on the Millennium and other federal agencies and departments for their efforts to assist cities on their Millennium projects.
