Conference President Webb to Address Urban Agenda at National Press Club

WASHINGTON, DC -- Conference President and Denver Mayor Wellington E. Webb will address the Newsmaker Luncheon at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, November 23. The Mayor will discuss the policy agenda for America's cities, and the need to bring urban issues before the presidential candidates. The event is scheduled to be broadcast on the C-SPAN network, and the text of the speech will be available at the Conference website, www.usmayors.org.

In addition, Webb will be in the Washington, D.C. area from November 21 to November 23, and is available for interviews with the media to discuss America's urban agenda: crime reduction, gun safety, environmental cleanup, transportation policy, economic development, etc. The U. S. Conference of Mayors is the official nonpartisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are about 1,100 such cities in the country today. Each city is represented in the Conference by its chief elected official, the Mayor.
