Mayors Water Council - what MWMA is to solid waste, the Mayors Water Council (MWC) is to, you guessed it, water. The primary purpose of the MWC is to assist local
governments in providing high quality water resources in a cost
effective manner. The MWC provides a wealth of resources - in particular, you might want to check out this interesting survey on bottled water use in cities.
Recycling America's Land - Recycling America's Land is USCM's longstanding brownfields initiative. Through Recycling America's Land, USCM has profiled innovative brownfields redevelopment projects in more than 40 cities across the country. USCM has also conducted a series of national surveys on brownfields redevelopment in America's cities. Take a look at the following publications:
Recycling America's Land: A National Report on Brownfields
Redevelopment (1993 -2010)
Brownfields Redevelopment: Reclaiming Land, Revitalizing
Communities (A Compendium of Best Practices, Vol. V)

Municipal Solid Waste Generation, Recycling, and Disposal in the United States: Facts and Figures for 2009 - the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has collected and reported
data on the generation and disposal of waste in the United States for
more than 30 years, in an effort to measure the success of waste
reduction and recycling programs across the country. In 2009,
for example, Americans generated about 243 million tons of trash and recycled and
composted 82 million tons of this material, equivalent to a 33.8 percent
recycling rate. And on average, we recycled and composted 1.46 pounds of our
individual waste generation of 4.34 pounds per person per day. (Download the fact sheet - 12 pp., 1.2 MB)
