Do I need a special password or code to participate in a U.S. MayorVision event?
No, unless specifically noted.

I log in and nothing happens. Just a black screen.
Please upgrade to the Real One player. If you have already upgraded, please see the next solution.

I log in and Real Player says "Connecting..." then i get an error message that says I cannot connect.
This is most likely due to a problem with your local firewall. Either contact your network administrator or follow the steps below:

    1) Click on the start button, then programs, then find "real player" or "real one player" and open it. it may be in a folder called "real"

    2) Once the program is open, do one of the following:

      a) If you have "Real One Player", click on "Tools", "Preferences", "Connection (on left)", "Network Transports". Then check the box on the button middle that says "Use Specific UDP Port." Once clicked, the number 7070 should light up in the box. If it doesn't please type it in. Close Real One Player, reboot your computer and log back in to the webcast.

      b) If you have "Real Player" or "Real Player Basic", click on "View", then "Preferences", then hit the "Transport" tab at the top. Then check the box on the bottom that says "Use Specific UDP Port." Once clicked, the number 7070 should light up in the box. If it doesn't please type it in. Close Real One Player, reboot your computer and log back in to the webcast.

I am viewing the webcast and I keep getting a "Buffering..." message and the webcast stops playing.
This is most likely due to traffic on your network. U.S. MayorVision can handle 100,000 connections without trouble so, barring unprecedented interest in a webcast, it is most likely due to high traffic on your network at work or home. Click on "refresh the video" at the bottom of the webcast to reset the webcast.

I logged in but all I see are chairs or a flag.
The webcast has not started yet. Please re-check the time it is supposed to start. If is supposed to have started, it may delayed. Most importantly, if you see an image, you are connected properly.
