Welcome to the new Cities United for Science Progress (CUSP) website.
Fresh and up-to-date, this is the hub of all things dealing with the educational partnership between the U.S. Conference of Mayors and Dupont. Coming off our best year yet, we’ve been to 57 cities across the nation, 11 this year alone, and have reached 14,000 kids and counting.
Visit us to catch-up on the latest news surrounding our signature program Science in the School Day and the Lead Safe...for Kids’ Sake grant program, which recently hit the $3 million mark for money donated to fighting childhood lead-poisoning. Also look out for the latest news in lead-safety and math and science education.
CUSP was founded on the principle that public private-partnerships work best to solve the challenges that cities face. With DuPont’s scientific knowledge and additional resources and the mayors’ leadership, we have an incredible partnership. CUSP not only encourages other cities to take note of the issue of childhood lead-poisoning but it also stresses the importance of math and science, because as a nation we must do better at encouraging our students if we are to compete in the 21st century global economy.
We welcome your thoughts, suggestions or ideas. If there is a hot issue concerning childhood lead poisoning or math and science education we would like to hear from you; by sharing information we can all learn and improve our cities.
