HENDERSONVILLE, TN SAFE ZONES 1. Briefly describe the structure of your program. The city provides a safe zone in one of it’s parks where teenagers can "hang out". A police officer patrols the park and monitors activities to keep the children safe from any illegal activities. 2. When was the program created and why? The program began in 1994. The purpose is to keep children off the street and out of business parking lots and give them a place to enjoy themselves safely. 3. How is the program financed? The officers are already on duty, so the only expense is their regular pay as the City already provides the Park.
