Whenever fundraisers or events in the city are held, the police department can set up a booth to fingerprint children. The card is given to the parent and can be used as a means of identification if the child should become lost or abducted. 2. When was the program created and why? The program was begun in 1985-86 as a public service to the community. 3. How is the program financed? The only costs are duty time of officers as this is done by officers on duty.
