By Jubi Headley and Debra
More than 4,000 delegates and 35,000 people overall will converge on Los Angeles next month for the 2000 Democratic National Convention, taking place from August 12th through August 17th.
One official event during the convention, a luncheon honoring the Democratic Mayors hosted by the U. S. Conference of Mayors, will be held on Monday, August 14th, from 11:30 until 2:30pm, at the Beverly Hills Hotel (9641 Sunset Boulevard), in the Rodeo Room. More than 300 Democratic Mayors, guests, sponsors, and other officials are expected to attend this event. The official staff contact for this event is Babette Penton; you may reach her by telephone at (202) 467-8250, or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to the luncheon honoring the Democratic Mayors', The Conference has worked with a number of Mayors and other partners to develop additional events to be held over the five-day period. Watch these pages in the coming weeks for a comprehensive listing of Mayoral events; you may also visit our website at usmayors.org.
