The U. S. Department of Labor (DOL) plans to issue a solicitation for grant applications for the Youth Opportunity Grants in the Federal Register in early June. The Youth Opportunity Grants, authorized in the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), aim to increase the long-term employment of youth living in empowerment zones, enterprise communities and high-poverty areas. Applications will be due in September. Application forms and instructions will also be available on DOL's website at www.doleta.gov under the "grants and contracts" page
