Stand For Children 2000: Building Safer and Healthier Communities for All Children

May 29, 2000

On and around June 1, people all across the country will partake in local "Stand for Children Day" events. This year’s theme, Building Safer and Healthier Communities For All Children, focuses on making communities a place where ALL children have:

  • Quality Health Care

  • Quality and Affordable Child Care

  • Quality Education

  • Violence Free Communities

  • Quality Out-of-School Care

Children’s health insurance sign-ups, violence prevention forums, playground builds, and statewide rallies, are just a few of the hundreds of Stand For Children Day 2000 events focusing on the theme of "Building Safer and Healthier Communities for All Children."

In addition to the June 1 events other events have been taking place throughout the country, from May 22-June 9. There will also be a Cyber-Stand For Children event on Stand For Children’s web site. To learn more about Cyber-Stand For Children and events in your community visit http://www.stand.org or call 800-663-4032.
