| Gore, McCain Confirmed for Annual Conference in New Orleans By Ed Somers Vice President Al Gore and Sen. John McCain (AZ) have both confirmed their participation in the upcoming 67th Annual Conference of Mayors to be held in New Orleans on June 11-15, 1999. Vice President Gore will address the nation's mayors on Monday, June 14 during a plenary luncheon. Sen. McCain will speak during the first plenary session of the meeting on the afternoon of Friday, June 11. The major presidential candidates seeking nomination by their parties have been invited to participate in the New Orleans meeting. Third-Annual State of the Cities During the New Orleans Annual Conference, the third-annual State of the Cities Report will be presented to the nation. The report is prepared by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and The U.S. Conference of Mayors. President Clinton has been invited to attend the New Orleans meeting to unveil the
report, as he has done in the past, which will then be amplified upon by HUD Secretary
Andrew Cuomo, who is confirmed for the Annual Conference.
