April 17, 2000

The United States Conference of Mayors and American Management Services, Inc. have announced the launch of their Partner America™ website: www.partneramerica.com . Designed to provide small businesses with online access to technical management expertise, and federal small business programs and procurement opportunities, the website is a comprehensive small business resource.

Conference Executive Director J. Thomas Cochran stated, “Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. We created this program with American Management to equip Mayors with new initiatives designed to strengthen the local economy, bring federal resources to local areas, increase the tax base, and create a vital and sustainable business community. This program will contribute significantly to the stability and health of the nation’s economy, and the online access allows us to extend these services to our communities and beyond.”

The website provides extensive information about the Partner America™ program, its partners, the federal supporting agencies, links to their Web sites, and current small business statistics. Businesses are also able to request American Management Services’ assistance online, making it a user-friendly program to the small business owner, whose time is invaluable and often consumed by running the business.

American Management’s Chairman and CEO, George A. Cloutier stated, “If a business owner is committed to making their business successful and realizing increased profits, Partner America™ is an excellent resource. We have helped more than 5,000 small businesses on the East Coast since 1986 and in the next eighteen months our program will be available to cities across the nation. Our role is to help businesses achieve all the profits they deserve and take advantage of the billions of dollars of federal resources earmarked for small business.”

In conjunction with Partner America™, the Conference, American Management Services, Inc. and local Mayors will aggressively advocate for small business development and growth. American Management will provide its implementation-based profit improvement programs to interested firms and facilitate participation in federal resource and private capital access programs determined appropriate for the business.
