Partner America™ Program Highlights and Facts

Partner America™, a new initiative announced at the 68th Annual Winter Meeting by Conference President Denver Mayor Wellington E. Webb, is the nation’s first public-private business growth and development initiative. Principal partners include the U.S. Conference of Mayors and American Management Service of Waltham, MA, who have been joined by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Export-Import Bank of the United States.

Partner America™ is a unique, historic small business resource initiative that will help small business take advantage of the $35 billion in contracts and $25 billion in grants and loans issued by the federal government annually.

Program America™ initial program highlights and facts:

• Almost 30% of small businesses are currently exporting or exported in the past.

• Over 35% of small businesses not currently exporting are considering exporting in the future.

• Over 40% of small businesses believe their product/service is exportable.

• Almost 30% of small businesses are interested in government assistance to help them export their product/service.

• While only 20% of small businesses are currently participating in government procurement programs, almost 45% are interested in procurement opportunities.

• Over 50% of small businesses are interested in assistance in procuring contracts from the government.

• Over 40% of small businesses indicate they use the Internet in their business.

• Almost 45% are interested in public/private procurement opportunities.
