"Meet the Mayors" Taping
We are pleased to announce that the United States Conference of Mayors and Veolia North America (formerly USFilter) will provide you the opportunity to tape a message for our web site during the 72nd Annual Meeting in Boston June 25-29, 2004.
One of the most popular pages of the Conference's award-winning web site, usmayors.org, is our "Meet the Mayors" program, sponsored by Veolia. On the site, you are given the opportunity to tape a video message about you and your city that is available to the thousands of users of usmayors.org. This year's theme will be "How has the global marketplace impacted your local economy? And what do you envision as the source of future job creation for your community?" Please come prepared to videotape a one-minute segment with this important theme. You are welcome to tell us about recent job generating activities within your city from companies that are expanding or from new economic development initiatives. And we would like to hear how you are preparing your city to compete in the global economy through educational initiatives, trade missions, export activities, etc., We are also interested in any recent job dislocations or job losses as a result of global competition or companies moving operations overseas.
There will be four taping sessions during the 72nd Annual Meeting, all at the Sheraton hotel in the Exeter Room on the 3rd floor:
Friday, June 25: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, June 26: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, June 27: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Monday, June 28: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
You may arrange for your taping, which will only take 5-10 minutes, by going to the usmayors.org booth located in the main lobby of the hotel. A representative of the Conference and Veolia will then escort you to the taping room or schedule an appropriate time for your taping.
If you have any questions, please call Jim Welfley at 202-861-6796 or go online to http://usmayors.org/72ndAnnualMeeting.
On behalf of the "Meet the Mayors" program and its sponsor Veolia, we are pleased to provide you this opportunity to promote your city during the 72nd Annual Meeting in Boston and throughout the coming year.
We look forward to seeing you!
