250 Mayors To Show Support For Amtrak, Travel To NYC via Acela Express On January 24|

WASHINGTON (January 23, 2002) - On Thursday, January 24, 2002, more than 250 mayors will demonstrate their support for Amtrak and the people of New York, traveling by train together for a special U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in the Big Apple. The meeting will focus on efforts to revive the U.S. economy.
Before embarking on a special Amtrak's Acela Express, the mayors will hold a press conference with Amtrak President George Warrington.

Travel to New York with the Mayors
