MAYORS JAN. 27 CONCURRENT SESSIONS FOR 68TH WINTER
MEETING

and Smart Growth On the Agenda
WASHINGTON, DC -- About 300 of America's Mayors
will arrive in the nation's capital en masse to participate in USCMs 68th
Winter Meeting. The meeting kicks off
at the Capitol Hilton Hotel on January 25th and concludes on the
28th. Among the events,
the Mayors have several concurrent sessions.
These meetings serve as vehicles for developing official policy of
USCM. Press can access the full

will be accepted in the USCM press room at the Capital Hilton Hotel. The USCM
press room on site will be the Pan American Room (Ph. 202-639-5422). Press conferences will be held in the New
York Room.
The U. S. Conference of Mayors is
the official nonpartisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or
more. There are about 1,100 such
cities in the country today. Each
city is represented in the Conference by its chief elected official, the
mayor.
