Washington, D.C. – U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) President Oklahoma City (OK) Mayor Mick
Cornett will bring greetings to the National League of Cities ‘2016 Cities Summit’ at this morning’s
plenary session.

During his remarks, Mayor Cornett will urge mayors and city councilmembers to work together to help
the new Administration and Congress fully understand the economic strength of America’s cities and
metro areas, as well as the policies needed to foster greater prosperity.

The NLC City Summit is slated to run from Tuesday, November 16th to Friday, November 19th and
convenes mayors, councilmembers and other local officials to explore and find solutions to the most
pressing challenges currently facing cities. Topics to be discussed include economic development,
technology and data use, sustainability and climate change, transportation, community relations and
leadership development.
