Washington, D.C. – U.S. Conference of Mayors CEO and Executive Director Tom Cochran today issued the following statement on President Obama’s Executive Order establishing a Community Solutions Council:

The challenges mayors face today are complex and demand a new kind of leadership and partnership between federal and local leaders. When the federal government invests in mayors’ vision, coordinates its support and builds capacity to respond to our greatest needs and challenges, we all succeed. This announcement marks progress to build a federal government that works effectively with cities and towns.”
